Like all good stories, the story of Isrotel Hotels began with a dream.
It was the dream of one remarkable man – David Lewis, a Jewish entrepreneur who was living in London at the time. In the early 1980s, Lewis fell in love with the natural beauty of Eilat, a place thousands of miles from his home, and recognized the immense tourism potential of this extraordinary location at Israel's southernmost tip. The desert, the sea, the coral, the year-round sunshine, the convenient proximity to major tourist attractions at Petra and in the Sinai, and the relative closeness to Europe – these were the foundations of his dream to transform this sleepy port town into a major resort city. In 1984, Lewis saw the first glimmers of his ambitious dream becoming a reality, as the opening of the Isrotel King Solomon redefined an "Eilat vacation" forever.
The new hotel won acclaim throughout Israel and around the world, putting Eilat on the global tourism map and paving the way for more large hotels to offer international hospitality standards in this idyllic locale. Ever since the Isrotel King Solomon first opened its doors, Eilat has developed into a vibrant center for tourism and leisure – and Isrotel Hotels has matched its incredible momentum every step of the way.
Today, Isrotel Hotels operates 19 hotels across the length and breadth of Israel, including 4,221 guest rooms and suites, as well as a huge variety of restaurants, bars, entertainment venues, events halls and complexes, live shows, and many more fabulous activities.
Over the past two decades, Isrotel Hotels has spread its wings and expanded its interests beyond Eilat, adding new hotels nationwide. This expansion was undertaken with the goal of creating a unique luxury brand under the Isrotel Hotels quality banner.
